Let’s work together!
Our collaborative approach
At Central PA Therapy Connections, we take a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to therapy— working closely with families and other professionals to help your child reach big goals.
We believe that parents are the key to successful therapy. We will provide you with education, strategies, and community resources along the way so that you feel confident supporting your child’s growth outside of the clinic.
Here’s the first step:
planning Your Child’s evaluation
Evaluations are the first step in understanding your child’s unique strengths and needs. Your therapist will conduct interviews, observations, and assessments to learn more about your child’s skills and your family’s goals.
At the end of the evaluation session, we will share our results and make therapy recommendations. You will then receive a formal evaluation report and plan of care within a week.
Specialized Pediatric Therapy Services
Speech Therapy
At Central PA Therapy Connections, we combine play-based activities with evidence-based approaches to help your child speak, read, write, learn, and communicate. Our speech therapy sessions will focus on helping your child:
Express their thoughts and needs more clearly, reducing frustration
Build confidence and independence while connecting with others
Learn social skills like turn-taking, problem-solving, and self-advocacy
Strengthen vocabulary and comprehension for academic success
Central PA Therapy Connections also provides specialized AAC services! Our speech therapists will complete your child’s AAC evaluation, walk them through AAC trials, and work with Ablenet to assist your family in obtaining a personal speech-generating device. Contact us to learn more.
feeding Therapy
Feeding therapy focuses on making mealtimes enjoyable and stress-free. We work with parents to create food lists and use techniques such as food chaining and sensory exploration to gradually introduce new foods. Our therapists incorporate oral motor exercises, oral sensory input, and play to build comfort with different textures and tastes. Feeding therapy will help your child:
Swallow foods and drinks safely
Gain confidence and comfort in trying new foods
Eat a wider variety of foods and textures
We follow a sensory hierarchy and use the Beckman Oral Motor Approach to guide our work, ensuring that your child feels safe and supported as they make progress. Family education and involvement are essential, as consistent home practice is the key to lasting success!
occupational Therapy
Our pediatric OTs use play and real-life activities to build foundational skills needed for success in school, at home, and in the community. Whether your child is working on hand strength, emotional regulation, recognizing letters and numbers, or eating new foods, we make therapy fun and functional! Our occupational therapy sessions will help your child:
Gain independence in dressing, feeding, and self-care routines
Write with a pencil, cut with scissors, and use utensils
Read, write, and copy notes from the board
Focus on tasks and regulate their own emotions
Occupational therapy is designed to be engaging and tailored to your child’s individual needs. Sessions will involve a variety of play-based activities to engage your child as they develop new skills.
sensory Integration
Our OTs have specialized training in sensory integration for kids!
Using our on-site sensory gym and self-regulation equipment, we will help your child’s brain interpret the messages that it receives from all of their senses—including sight, sound, touch, taste, smell, movement, and body position. Sensory integration sessions will focus on helping your child:
Respond to sensory information from the world around them
Focus more easily
Regulate their own emotions
Participate better in life activities
